Growing up too fast!

Oh my! Guess who is trying to sit up! It only lasts for a minute or two, but holy cow. He's usually okay and pretty stable until something catches his eye, or he sees his feet and tries to grab 'em.

Here are a few more pictures of Jackson with his bear from Uncle Nathan and Aunt Leila. He tried to eat the bear, as he does everything else these days! And yes, that is my son in leg warmers (circo 1980's)! They are from www.babylegs.com, and I think they are cute! Not to mention how easy it makes diaper changes when you don't have to put pants on and off a squirmy 4 month old!

Busy Busy Busy

BUSY! That seems to be the word of the week! Last Thursday (19th), Jackson had his first taste of cereal. He was really amused at first, as he slammed his hands on his highchair...almost as if he knew what was coming. Well, it was interesting, and I don't think he liked it very much. This is a learning process for both Al and I, and for Jackson! Here are a few pictures of the morning.

Hum, this should be fun!

Jackson's first bite

Okay, that wasn't toooo bad. Do I get more?

ACK! This stuff is yucky!

You mean, you want me to eat this?

The first cereal was eventful to say the least :)

This morning we tried oatmeal. he still got frustrated bt the end, but he seamed to like it much better than the cereal. He was at least opening his mouth for it, evn if he still made the funny faces.

I still think he would prefer to eat his bib...or his hands for that matter!

Also, guess who has been nappig in his crib some :) It's not for every nap, but we're making progress here :)

Saturday, a friend of mine took a few pictures of Jackson for our Christmas cards...

Go here to see the rest (8 of them).
www.capturedbyblythe.lifepics.com Password is Jackson.

We had a great time at the game Saturday. A few friends came in town that we haven't seen in a while, and it was great to see everyone! Grandma and Grandpa Anderson watched Jackson Saturday while we went to the game. I'm sure Grandma had him laughing out load. I'm not sure what it is about his Grandma and Grammy, but man can they get that little guy to laugh!

We can't wait to spend some time with the family on Thursday! We wish we could see Nathan and Leila, but I guess we'll have to share them with he family too :) At least we'll be able to see them for Christmas...just a little under 5 weeks away. Ahh...that reminds me...I've got some shopping to do :)

18 weeks

How has it already been 18 weeks? How is it that time can fly by so fast? How is it the my little man that use to love to cuddle up on my chest and would fall fast aleep can no longer sit still? All he wants to do is look around and take in the world. ::SIGH:: My little guy is growing up so fast.

I took Jackson to his 4 month appointment yesterday. Doc says he's perfect, but I already knew that :) He offically weighed in at 16lbs 11oz (75%), and 24.5 inches (50%). He gave us the okay to start on solids, and as big as his appetite is, I'm sure he will do fine. I will post pictures and an update when it happens.

We had a great weekend. My mom and dad came to Greenville Saturday to hang out with Jackson. Mom and I were able to get a lot of Christmas shopping done. I still have a lot left, but being the procrastinator that I am, it's rare that I have this much done 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. Al's parents also stopped by for a quick visit, and it was great to see them.

Sunday, Jackson and I packed up and went to church with Shawn and Blaine. There were a group of young boys there from a Baptist group home in Tarboro (the Kennedy Center). Their stories were touching, but sad. They were a strong bunch of boys that had been through a lot and I pray that they continue on in such a positive manor. After church we went over to the inlaws house for a bit. my nephew Blaine is growing up so fast. he's at that age now where he is so curious and IN.TO.EVERYTHING. He is wide open, and so much fun!

All in all, great weekend!

Just Tuesday...What?

What a long week it's going to be!

We had a geat time Thursday night at the ECU/VTech game, even though we lost. Win or lose, we always have a good time with Pirate football. Grammy and granddaddy were nice enough to come to Greenville to watch Jackson so Al and I could go, even though it ment them getting back to Smithfield after midnight...what grandparents will do :)

The night turned out great. It was the first night that anyone other that Al or myself had put Jackson to bed. All went off without a hitch and he slept all night, which was great since I didn't get to bed until 1am and had to wake up for work the next morning!

Saturday we spent the afternoon in Tarboro so Jackson could vist with grandma and grandpa, and Bella could run wild! It was a nice visit. It's so much fun to see Jackson with his grandparents. He loves them all so much!

Sunday was a relaxing day. We stayed close to home and it was nice to just relax and not go, go, go for once. Al watched football while I got my order ready for the Bill Goode pictures. I can't wait for them to come in!!!

This might be one of the few times you will see Jackson wearing anything other than purple and gold during football season! Take it in and soak it up Nathan...this was just for the UNC vs. Duke game :)

One year ago today...

I can't believe it has been a year!

It's amazing how in just 1 year I could go from this...

To this...

Jackson has been the sweetest blessing our little family could ask for!

Sorry I have been such a slacker with posting blogs and updated pictures the last 2 weeks. Life had been a little hectic, but I will make it up with lots of new pictures today :)

Jackson has gotten to where he really loves his jumperoo. He is still learning about the toys and hasn't really figured out how to play with them yet, but he's got the jumping thing down pat!
When he does find a toy...It goes straight to his mouth!
We had a great Halloween. We took Jackson over to Aunt Shawn and Uncle Jason's to see Blaine. The 6 of us had a nice lunch at the Olive Garden and just spent some time together. I promise to post more Halloween pictures soon (Shawn has most of them).
The somewhat Happy Pumpkin

The not so happy pumpkin...

Our little Monkey

Just a couple more random, but cute pictures :)
Napping in the recliner
